John 11:25-26 - Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

Our entire faith—the foundation of everything we believe, live, and teach—rests on this one powerful truth: Jesus died and rose again. If there had been no resurrection, Jesus might have been remembered as just another great teacher who died too young. But because the resurrection did happen, everything changed. His resurrection confirms He is who He said He is, the Son of God with all authority over sin, death, and the grave.

Because Jesus lives, we can trust every promise He’s ever made.

2 Corinthians 1:20 - For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

Here are some promises that are true because the resurrection happened:

1. You Have Eternal Life
Eternal life isn’t something we earn. It’s a gift from God through Jesus. Because He conquered death, we too will live forever with Him.

John 11:25 – Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.”

2. You Are Free From Sin’s Power
The resurrection means sin no longer holds you captive. You’ve been set free, and the Holy Spirit gives you the power to live in victory.

Galatians 5:1 – Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

3. You Are a New Creation
God doesn’t patch up the old you—He makes you completely new. Because Jesus lives, you can walk in a brand-new identity.

2 Corinthians 5:17 – Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

4. You Don’t Have to Live in Fear
His presence gives you courage. You’re never alone—your risen Savior walks with you through every trial.

Isaiah 41:10 – Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

5. God Has a Purpose for You
Even when life is confusing, you can trust that God is working things out for your good and His glory.

Romans 8:28  – And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

6. You Don’t Have to Worry
Because Jesus lives, you can lay your worries at His feet and receive peace that the world cannot offer.

Philippians 4:6–7  – Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

7. He Will Never Leave You
He’s not going anywhere. In a world of uncertainty and loss, Jesus remains your constant companion.

Matthew 28:20  – “…and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

8. You Can Know God Personally
Through the resurrection, Jesus made a way for you to have a real relationship with God. He wants to dwell with you every day.

John 14:23 – Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.”

9. One Day, All Things Will Be Made Right
Because Jesus rose, we look forward to a future where sin, death, pain, and sorrow are no more. Justice and righteousness will reign.

2 Peter 3:13 – Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

10. You Are Known and Loved Personally
Jesus’ death and resurrection weren’t just a grand act for all humanity—it was deeply personal. He knows you, loves you, and gave His life for you.

Psalm 139:1–4 – O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off…You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.

These promises might feel hard to believe some days—but remember, the One who made them has already overcome the greatest obstacle: death itself. He can be trusted. Every Resurrection Sunday reminds us that God is not done. He is alive, and His promises still stand.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for going to the cross and rising again. Because of Your resurrection, I can hold tightly to these promises. Thank You for eternal life, freedom, and hope that will never fade. Help me live in the power of Your victory and trust in Your faithfulness daily. In Your name, I pray, Amen.
