1 Peter 5:7-9 - casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
If you’ve walked with God for any amount of time, you know that spiritual attacks are part of the Christian life. Jesus warned us in John 10:10 that “the thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy,” but He also promised, “I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly.”
We have a real enemy, and his mission is to destroy us. But the good news is this: we are not powerless. We already have everything we need to win!
2 Peter 1:3 tells us, “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.” Victory is not something we’re trying to find, it’s something we already have access to in Christ.
To overcome the enemy’s attacks, you must remain spiritually alert. Think of a soldier on the night watch, vigilant, focused, prepared. In spiritual warfare, we cannot afford to let our guard down.
The enemy often attacks through:
When we face adversity, it’s crucial that we remain grounded in the truth. We must be doers of the Word, not just hearers. When everything feels like falling apart, cling to the Word and refuse to let go.
Remember how Jesus responded to Satan in the wilderness in Matthew 4. When the devil tempted Him, Jesus answered: “It is written.” The Word of God is your greatest weapon.
5 KEYS TO OVERCOMING SPIRITUAL ATTACK
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me everything I need for life and godliness. Your Word declares that greater is He who is in me than in the world. Thank you for the victory I have in you. Help me stay watchful, recognize the enemy’s schemes, and use the spiritual weapons You’ve given me. Thank you for being for me and never against me. Thank you for you always causing me to triumph in Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
