Psalm 34:17 - The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.
We are all faced with problems in life. The trouble is that we can feel completely hopeless when we don’t know how to manage them. Over the years, as I have talked with people about their lives, I have found that many of the answers we need are very practical.
It’s essential to keep things in perspective when addressing issues. Everyone can experience difficult seasons, but knowing what to do during those times can make a difference. I want to share some simple tips to help you overcome problems.
1. Start with prayer. Whatever the situation or the circumstance, prayer is always an excellent place to begin. Bring your needs before God, tell him what you want to see changed, and give the weight of the problem to the Lord. 1 Peter 5:7...casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
God can fix any situation in your life. There isn’t a problem too big that He cannot handle. Go to His Word and see what He says about your situation. Read about how big God is. We are often so focused on the need that it looks ten times bigger than it is. Let God enlarge your thinking as you read about His miraculous power to save.
2. Trust in God! The next thing you need to do when you are going through a tough time is to believe. Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
3. Believe. Know that God is working on your behalf; believe He will do what He said He would. Refuse to fear or doubt and keep your mind on the answers. Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
4. Keep the lines of communication open. It's essential to keep communicating when you're in those tough times, and it has to do with someone else in your life. Many times, people think that spiritual things alone are the answer. Yes, your faith in God is essential, but you still have to communicate your thoughts and feelings with those around you. Communication is a learned skill; when you are in a relationship, you give up the right to be silent. You must learn to respond and talk to the people in your life.
Take time to speak about what you know to be true. Share from your heart, honestly. Tell them what you are working on in your heart and mind. Let them know how you are doing and what part they play in your life. Many problems only grow and get worse from a lack of communication. In addition, the enemy plans to isolate you and make you feel alone. Sharing your situations with others will take away the loneliness.
5. Persevere. The Bible says when you have done all, to stand. You will need to persevere and have an attitude that you are coming out of this situation with victory. God doesn't want you to live a defeated life; He has called you to be more than a conqueror and an overcomer, living an abundant life. Ephesians 6:13 - Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
So, if you are in a problem or situation, Pray, trust, believe, communicate, and persevere. Know that God can bring you out of trouble. The things that surround you today are temporary and will not defeat you!
