What We Believe!
The Bible

The Bible is God’s Word to all mankind. It is accurate, authoritative, and applicable to everyday life. Human authors wrote it under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of errors. 2 Timothy 3:16 — 2 Peter 1:20,21 — 2 Timothy 1:13 — Psalm 119:105,160,12:6 — Proverbs 30:5

God

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are equal and are one God. He is all loving, completely holy, and perfectly righteous. Genesis 1:1,26-27; 3:22 — Psalm 90:2 — Matthew 28:19 — I Peter 1:2 — 2 Corinthians 13:14

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is equal with the Father. Jesus Christ is both God and man and the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless, perfect life. He died on the cross in our place and rose again, making it possible for man’s sin to be forgiven and removed. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return to Earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Matthew 1:22,23 — Isaiah 9:6 — John 1:1-5 — John 14:10-30 — Hebrews 4:14-15 — I Corinthians 15:3-4 — Romans 1:3,4 — Acts 1:9-11 — I Timothy 6:14-15 — Titus 2:13

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present to make mankind aware of our need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides us with power for daily living, understanding of Spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. 2 Corinthians 3:17 — John 16:7-13 — John 14:16-17 — Acts 1:8 — I Corinthians 2:12 — Ephesians 1:13

Mankind

We are all made in the spiritual image of God to be like Him in character. We are the ultimate creation. Although mankind has tremendous potential for good, we are flawed by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin.” This sin separates us from God and His purpose for our lives. Genesis 1:27 — Psalm 8:3-6 — Isaiah 53:6 — Romans 3:23 — Isaiah 59:1-2

Eternity

We all were created to exist forever. We will either be eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. The place of eternal separation from God is called Hell. Heaven is the place of eternal union and eternal life with God. We determine our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ Luke 16:22-24 — John 3:16 — Romans 6:23 — Revelation 20:15 — Matthew 25:41 — Revelation 21:27

Salvation

Salvation is a gift from God to mankind. We can never make up for our sins through self-improvement or good works. Salvation is possible when we repent, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can we be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment we receive Jesus Christ through faith. Acts 16:30-31 — Romans 6:23 — Ephesians 2:8-9 — John 14:6 — John 1:12 — Titus 3:5 — Galatians 3:26

Water Baptism

Water baptism by immersion is a New Testament command. To live a holy and fruitful life we need to be baptized and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19-20 — Colossians 2:12 — Romans 6:1-5 — Acts 2:38

Gift of Tongues

We believe in being filled with the Holy Spirit and that He enables us to use spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues. Acts 1:5 — Acts 2:1-4 — Acts 4:31 — Acts 9:17 — Acts 19:6 — I Corinthians 12:13 — 1 Corinthians 14:22

Healing

Supernatural healing is available through faith in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ and is a privilege for every believer today. Isaiah 53:4-5 — 1 Peter 2:24 — Luke 4:18-19 — Galatians 3:13-14 — Mark 16:17-19

Local Church

Every Christian should become established in a local church. God has equipped each believer to achieve His purpose for our lives successfully. We are created to worship God, fulfill our role in the Church, and serve our community. Hebrews 10:25 — 1 Corinthians 12:14-18 — Ephesians 4:11-15 — Amos 3:3

Definition of Marriage

The Bible defines marriage between a man and a woman. Genesis 2:18-24 — Matthew 19:5-6 — Ephesians 5:33 — Leviticus 18:22 — 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 — Romans 1:26-28

Eternal Security

Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in eternal salvation. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives this security. John 10:29 — 2 Timothy 1:12 — Hebrews 7:25 — Hebrews 10:10,14 — I Peter 1:3-5
